The WOMAN behind this big blooming creation
Hark & Bloom starts with Nicole and its story is her story...
Once upon a time...
She was a stifled creative who struggled to balance her inner artist with her sensible corporate career.
She naively bought into the notion that having a career and being an artist were two separate paths. Much of her early years were spent feeling torn between the interesting, yet predictable path of consumer markeitng and the exciting, yet unpredictable life of an artist.
There was always a sense that she needed to escape the corprate world in order to let her art come to life. A sense that she needed to leave behind all her hard work, her accomplishments, and her life as she knew it; steady, stable, and rewarding, in order to be her true self.
Keeping her artistic talents nurtured and well expressed while simultaneously navigating the working world often left her feeling drained and out of balance.
She sought out tools and methods of healing that would help her get beyond the feelings of being energetically depleted.
Even when she did make steps towards expressing herself through singing and storytelling, she experienced crippling stage fright, and a feeling of being unsafe to express her inner artist while also being successful in the corporate world.
She began to see and hear her own story in her circles of friends and spirutual community.
There seemed to be a common struggle - you need to work to live, but you need to express yourself to really feel alive and joyful and often it doesn’t feel possible to do both.
Little by little, she grew more CONFIDENT in her identity.
She grew more confident in her identity as an artist and began to embrace the role of helping people heal themselves through creative expression.
She began to weave together all the rituals and practices that had been so supportive for her own healing and activating her creative flow.
She finALLY UNDERSTOOD IT IS POSSIBLE TO BE AND TO THRIVE IN BOTH WORLDS - artist and corporate.
Being a passionate stroyteller, singer, songwriter and visual artist is part of what makes her valuable and interesting in the working world.
These worlds are not mutually exclusive. They are interdependent and each one supports the other.

“When I was around 5 years old, I decided the pages from my coloring book were actually stunning works of art. So, I signed them, ripped the pages from the spine, and peddled them door-to-door for fifty cents each. One of the neighbors was not so charmed by my creative and entrepreneurial spirit. She called my mom to say she thought it was rather tacky that I was trying to sell my crummy coloring book pages. My mom still encouraged me to do ‘art’ but not worry about selling it. So wise of her!”
